Star Wars fan boys and girls will be having a major meltdown after this 6th episode of Season 2 of the Mandalorian.
As if Ahoka's live action debut last week, set the standard for the rest of this show, this week is a whammy of a team up - with the Mandalorian, Fennec Shand.... and Boba Fett kicking some Storm Trooper ass... before they get their ass handed to them by ... DUN DUN DUN
The return of the Empire!
Because Mof Gideon and his Dark Trooper are not here to meditate on the morals or regulatory confinements of the Outer Rim.
This episode features the return of Temura Morrison as Boba Fett and the 'surprise' return of Fennec Shand - who you may recall was left for dead by Mando in Season One.
A short summary of the show is that Mando has taken Baby Yoda to Thython where he was directed to by Ashoka Tana - to the seeing stone so Baby Grogu could send a signal into the universe. Boba Fett tracks him where a deal is struck for the return of Boba Fett's armour.
At which point some Storm Troopers arrive and chaos ensues.
By chaos we mean we FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS get to see Boba Fett in action and kill by my count 47 Storm Troopers.
Fan boy meltdown in deed.
Facts and Trivia
- Debut of Dark Soldiers in Live Action

- Confirmation that Jango Fett was indeed a Mandalorian and a Foundling at that.

- Boba Fett says to Mando "“I’m a simple man making his way through the galaxy, like my father before me.” which is a called back to a similar line Tem Morrison says when he played Jango Fett in The Attack of the Clones.
- Fenenc Shand's face mask, echoes that of Zam Wessel in Attack of the Clones which mirrors the relationship of Wessel and Jango Fett (of a kind).
- Third time in a live action Star Wars that the Storm Trooper 'stun' is used (ANH & TLJ the others)
- Where's the jet pack?
- This episode confirms the armour Jango Fett wore is the same armour Boba wears - meaning he updated the color scheme at some point.
- "The Tragedy" was the Razor Crest. RIP.
- The time Storm Troopers can actually shoot on target and the target is wearing a suit of beskar...
- The mounted turret looked a lot similar to the one the Snow Troopers were setting up to shoot at the Falcon in The Empire Strikes Back.
- The mystery person at the end of chapter 5 in season one is now clearly Boba Fett.
Where at episode 6 and finally at the business end of the season. We say finally in the sense that we are getting to the final. We have loved mos of the steps of the way of this season (episode 4 was an odd side step for this reviewer, despite the amazing action).
We must also acknowledge the death of David Prowse who played Original Trilogy Darth Vader this week. May the Force be with you!
